"There has been little privacy for Owensboro sculptor Bill Kolok since early February when a 5,000-pound cylinder of Indiana limestone was set on a pedestal in the new sculpture garden at 9th and Frederica streets. And that's fine with him.

"I believe that art will be less intimidating to people if they have the opportunity to interact with the artist. As they watch the sculpture take shape they will begin to understand the value art has to the community and take some ownership in it," said Kolok in his original proposal.
